Fading Memories

Fading Memories, 2011

When a woman leaves us, often our memories of her fade, and in time we remember only her pretty, seductive parts; we forget the rest.  This sculpture, composed of breasts, genitals and pretty hair supported by an egg-shaped stone, is intended to represent our imperfect memory of a past love in a fanciful, humorous way.

Yet, it also raises a question: with a collar where her throat would be, who is holding on?  Maybe it’s time to let the memory go.
